Our client is developing antibodies to transcend the limits of naturally occurring immunity and provide higher levels of protection from viral diseases.


Overview:
  • The Sr. Director, Market Access, Pricing & Contract Strategy is accountable for leading and overseeing the development of Market Access (MA) strategies, tactical support programs and overall execution of access resources across all payer channels.
  • In addition, this role will manage the contract and pricing process, including the development and management of national contract price strategies to maximize revenue growth and market penetration for various channels of distribution, including wholesalers, distributors, GPOs, community-based centers, and institutional/government accounts.
  • This role requires a significant degree of collaboration, influencing and driving strategic alignment across multiple functions (Sales, Trade, US Public Affairs, HEOR, Commercial Operations and Marketing).

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide critical leadership in developing brand and market access strategies by payer channel, to support patient access in the creation and delivery of impactful market access resources.
  • Coach/player mindset to lead a team to ensure all strategies and tactics are well thought through and aligned to overarching brand strategy.
  • Plays a critical leadership role within the leadership team representing all market access functions.
  • Execution and refinement of the market access strategy.
  • Spearhead and create a pricing & contracting strategy in tandem with the cross functional Commercial Leadership team.
  • Develop, train, and implement the necessary promotional resources and reimbursement pull-through that support field account teams’ efforts with key customers.
  • Oversee and provide strategic input and planning for future formulations, conditioning regiments, etc.
  • Customize pricing, contracting and access strategies based on Commercial, Medicaid & Medicare demographics, legislation, & trends.
  • Identify and address key product barriers to payer access and performance by applying advanced payer analytics and market trends.
  • Oversee agency and external vendors to deliver resources and strategic insights on time and within budget.
  • Developing KPIs and metrics to assess impact of key initiatives.
  • Act as trusted, subject matter expert on US payer landscape, pricing and contracting to internal colleagues and externally customers.
  • Manage the contract and pricing process, including the development and management of national contract price strategies to maximize revenue growth and market penetration for various channels of distribution, including wholesalers, distributors, GPOs, community-based centers, and institutional/government accounts.
  • Manage and administer contracts terms and conditions, contract bid and award processing and the monitoring of contract compliance and award acceptance.
  • Maintain and develop a pricing database and related pricing information on new and existing products for the company.
  • Review, approve, and execute customer pricing strategies and rebate structures.
  • Ability to take initiative, understand and resolve complex contract and pricing issues and exercise appropriate business judgement.
  • Monitor pricing based on competition, market share, utilization, costs and put forward recommendations for price adjustments where warranted.
  • Ensure contract terms and conditions are met and internal notifications are received by appropriate personnel associated with bids/offers to customers.
  • Provides proactive and in-depth financial analysis of products or market-specific business activity.
  • Analyze historical sales trends and other pertinent information to formulate and analyze pricing strategies.
  • Review and address interdepartmental requests for product or customer contract information.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements and lead the implementation efforts.
  • Complete ad-hoc analyses and projects per President’s Associate Vice President, Marketing’s request.

Job Requirements

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Expert knowledge of US healthcare system, including gov’t & commercial payers, policy, and regulatory environment.
  • Strong understanding of the hospital setting , billing and coding requirement as well as the flow of funds.
  • Previous contract strategy leadership experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech or healthcare industry (required).
  • Experience in developing and articulating a clear and pragmatic value proposition.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding objectives & goals, both as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to customers and internal leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead cross-functional teams, influencing without direct authority, with the interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and succeed in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Must have US Access launch experience.
  • Experience with leading and managing a team.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
  • Typically requires 12 years of MA experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically requires 5 years of supervisory experience.
