Our client is a leading global biotech company focused on clinical diagnostics and located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The role of Sr. Director, Clinical Product Management will report to the VP of Marketing, and will serve as the product management leader of the clinical business. This includes collaborating with Platform, R&D, Medical and Business Development teams to assess, prioritize and develop content solutions to solve for customers’ toughest clinical diagnostic challenges.

Key Components

Customer & Market Knowledge:
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare market – a strong understanding of healthcare customer segment (reference labs, hospitals, public health labs), understanding of competitive landscape, knowledge of global market trends
  • Understands trends in both conventional and molecular methods for diagnostics. Has strong knowledge of qPCR, CE, Microarray and NGS platforms and the corresponding content (applications) to meet applied clinical market needs
  • Conversant with the clinical diagnostics (LDT & IVD) development process with demonstrated record of successful submissions for CE-IVD, CFDA, and 510K/PMA approvals. Understands organizational requirements to design products/solutions, and can operate under the constraints of an increasingly compliance-driven environment
  • Brings the customer and our impact on them deeply into the organization. Understands genetic analysis " sample-to-answer" workflows of various customer segments. Leverages diverse global experience across various stakeholders (labs, hospitals, clinicians, patients, payers and policy makers) to bring clinically relevant solutions to the market

  • Collaborate with Platform, R&D, Medical and Business Development teams to assess, prioritize and develop content solutions
  • Ensure prioritization and tracking of product management activities – New Product Introductions, Sustaining & Incubation. Accountable for delivering key milestones on time and aligning to the overall revenue targets
  • Execute consistently on plan targets using metrics to monitor and adjust based on performance against those metrics
  • Manage a high performing team of 5-6 Product Management directs. Manage/influence several cross functional stakeholders in the matrix
  • Develop Product Management professionals, attracting and empowering the right talent and driving employee engagement, building reputation for the best place to work

 

How will you get here?

Bachelor’s degree required in science, engineering, businesses, economics or related field. MBA or similar advanced degree preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in product management and 5 years in managing product management teams with a successful track record of driving robust pipeline of products
  • Familiarity with clinical (both LDT in CLIA environment and IVD) and applied/translational research customers
  • Global market knowledge of genetic analysis, across multiple platforms e.g. CE/Sanger, qPCR, Microarray, NGS
