Job Description

The mission of our client is to change the landscape of oncology drug discovery and enable the development of more effective therapies in the treatment of cancer. 


Job Summary:
  • This position will initially report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will include managing the development of new product designs and improving performance and efficiency of existing products and services. This position will be responsible for managing the product development team and helping Skyline achieve success by utilizing innovative approaches which meet our customers’ requirements and assist in developing and maintaining practices which apply to our regulated industry.
  • In addition, as Site Manager, this position will also be responsible for overseeing the successful processing, fulfilment, and invoicing of purchase orders, including hardware, consumables (fluids and filters), and service-related matters.  
  • This position will also be a liaison between suppliers and the Company and will be instrumental in coordinating the technical efforts needed to achieve our goals. This position will also be instrumental in leading efforts to ensure proper documentation standards are attained for our quality system.


Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects, track and report progress, identify challenges and roadblocks and work with the team to acquire resources and create action plans to ensure goals and priorities are achieved.
  • Manage new development projects, working closely with fellow R&D engineers, Customers, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing and Quality Assurance regarding New Product Development. The position requires a team-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead a team to generate innovative concepts, complete design of concept, modeling concept through either SLA or prototype tooling, and test prototype against overall device requirements.
  • Responsible for developing, modifying, implementing, and supporting products through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. Interfaces with customers and suppliers as required.
  • Facilitates the design of complex components and assemblies capable of achieving overall device requirements. Perform design verification and transfer to production. 
  • Facilitates engineering and technical support for production with respect to product specifications and requirements. 
  • Assists in developing manufacturing and inspection work instructions.  
  • Guides the successful completion of major programs or projects on time and within budget. 
  • Provides technical expertise to manufacturing and service groups to allow upgrades to product either in production or in the field. May require travel to customers with critical repair needs.
  • Responsible for the fulfillment of sales.
  • Tracks and manages project metrics, reporting to LT and acting as liaison between MN site and Pittsburgh.
  • Provides expertise to Sales team, performs site surveys, activates and commissions units, etc.
  • Oversees in-house manufacturing.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • AS/AAS/BS/BA in engineering, technology or a related discipline is required. 
  • A minimum of 10 years related work experience required. 
  • Ability to train and coach others.
  • Demonstrated expertise in vacuum, pressure, plastic part design, injection molding, extrusion, and manufacturing processes. 
  • Experience in the design of engineering grade plastic parts, mold design, and processing of engineering grade resins. 
  • Previous experience with disposable medical devices in a high-volume manufacturing environment. 
  • Previous experience in a highly regulated environment for Class I & II Medical Devices.
