This position requires a board certified anatomic pathologist with clinical training in surgical pathology (MD and anatomic pathology residency) and self-assessed proficiency in pathologic diagnosis of solid tumors. The candidate will work as a member of a fast-paced digital pathology project team, including image analysis scientists, other pathologists, and data curators, in order to integrate slide assessment with data curation for quality control of digital pathology images in clinical trials.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to independently execute requests in translational pathology including (1) histological assessment of solid tumors from H&E, immunohistochemistry, or immunofluorescence slides sectioned from FFPE and/or frozen tissues (2) working directly with digital image analysis scientists to provide ground truth annotation on digital pathology images (3) validating digital pathology algorithms, including regional and cell-level classification of tissue from images (3) Writing pathologic reports and/or providing numeric assessments from slide interpretation (4) Capturing microphotographs via a digital pathology slide viewer and (5) administrative tasks including accessing, submitting, and validating pathology reports in a laboratory management system interface. Experience with bioinformatics and/or biostatistics is a plus. The candidate should possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
The Pathologist Scientist position requires a board certified anatomic pathologist with clinical training in surgical pathology (MD and anatomic pathology residency) Surgical pathology fellowship is beneficial but not necessary.
