Job Description


Our client is an early-stage biotechnology company developing a novel technology platform that can provide safe and persistent control of targeted gene regulation.


Roles and responsibilities:
  • Design, conduct, analyze, interpret, and report data on gene therapy program in support of the company’s retinal disease programs.
  • Collaborate across our Research and Development divisions to drive projects progression toward key milestones.
  • Develop strategies for preclinical development, including the identification and management of risks and opportunities.
  • Contribute to IND and IP filing.


Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in cellular and/or molecular biology, ophthalmology, neuroscience, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of related experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong preclinical experience in gene therapy.
  • Experience in designing and overseeing preclinical studies and interpreting preclinical data.

Job Requirements

Technical Requirements and Skills:
  • Ideal candidates will have a deep knowledge of and experience in the genetics of retinal diseases.
  • Prior experience in developing in vitro and in vivo model systems for retinal diseases.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, effective verbal/written communication skills, and critical problem-solving/analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with CRO and to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners, including regulatory agencies, academic institutions, and biotech companies.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team.
