Summary: 
  • The Gene Therapy Research group in is looking for a highly motivated Research Associate to join our Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) Purification and Analytics team.
  • In this role, you will purify standard and novel AAVs using established protocols as well as characterize purified material using state-of-the-art analytical tools under our supervision.
  • In addition, a successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in exploratory and pipeline projects and learn about research and manufacturing side of gene therapy drug development.

Responsibilites: 
  • Perform standard AAV purifications and purified material characterization following established protocols.
  • Maintain an accurate electronic laboratory notebook to record daily activities and experimental results.
  • Prepare or update protocols and other documents, as needed.
  • Effectively communicate experimental findings and collaborate with other team members.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a timely manner to meet project deadlines.

Job Requirements

Skills:
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting is highly desirable, but not essential.
  • Virus and/or protein purification experience using FPLC and/or HPLC chromatography is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Openness and willingness to learn new skills and/or laboratory techniques is a must.

Education: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
