Our client is a leading biotechnology company that discovers, develops, manufactures, and commercializes medicines to treat patients with serious or life-threatening medical conditions. The Position:
  • We seek a highly motivated Scientific Project Manager to support activities for the Oncology Reverse Translation team - an integrated, translational initiative between Oncology Biomarker Development (OBD), and Cancer Immunology and Molecular Oncology research departments.
  • This reverse translational research initiative involves leveraging large clinical oncology study data sets to identify new targets and pathways for evaluation in research and therapeutic development.
  • The Project Manager will support a team of scientists and coordinate with stakeholders in multiple divisions to lead initiatives supporting these translational research and development efforts.
  • The ideal candidate must be dynamic, possess the ability to navigate complex organizational structures, and apply their skills in scientific project management to support this multifaceted and fast-paced initiative and deliver results.


As a Scientific Project Manager, you will be expected to:
  • Manage multiple team-based work streams centered on collaborative and mission-based translational research.
  • Drive work streams related to these goals by developing, documenting and managing project plans and schedules, and producing meeting minutes and follow-up action items.
  • Work with scientific leads on project planning and progress, including project scope, goals, budgets, status and upcoming milestones.
  • Effectively manage and coordinate both internal and external scientific collaborations.
  • Serve as a key interface with multiple functions across the Company to enable planning and communications related to reverse translational deliverables.

Job Requirements

Who you are:
  • A MS/PhD in life sciences (preferred), with at least 2 years of project management experience; understanding of cancer biology and immuno-oncology and/or biomarker and diagnostics development would be desirable.
  • Highly organized with demonstrable experience in project management of complex teams.
  • Ability to work in a multifunctional team environment, interact with a wide variety of stakeholders, and relate effectively to people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to navigate complex environments and engender collaborative relationships.
  • Exceptional communication skills at multiple levels, from 1:1 stakeholder interactions to formal presentations to larger groups.
  • Demonstrate ability to synthesize and articulate conclusions from discussions.
