Our client develops, manufactures, and supplies a wide array of innovative medical diagnostic products, services, tests, platforms, and technologies.  

Job Summary:
  • Adhere to all procurement policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
  • Implement supply chain strategies and plans consistent with overall department and corporate strategic direction in all day-to-day activities.
  • Responsible for maintaining and ensuring that Procurement is in compliance with FDA Regulations/QSRs; Corporate Requirements and any other corporate Quality and SH&E directives.
Responsibilities:
  • Process approved purchase requisitions and place purchase orders for supplies, equipment, direct/indirect goods or services within authorized signature limits.
  • Working under general guidance, assist in the development and qualification of sources to support the ongoing purchase of raw materials, tooling, production material, supplies, equipment or services at the most cost effective level while monitoring and ensuring that supplier quality, service and performance remains consistently high.
  • Conduct new sourcing, bidding and negotiations to meet business area requirements while supporting continuous improvement in terms of Quality, Service and Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Working under general guidance, and as assigned, conduct site visits to current and prospective supplier locations.
  • Periodically meet with representatives of the business areas to discuss and review their supply and service needs.
  • In conjunction with internal partners, implement defined metrics that measure performance and reinforce/ advance the effectiveness of the procurement organization and the working relationship with the business areas.
  • Identify supply and quality problems proactively and lead the development of corrective actions to the benefit of Procurements internal partners.
  • Provide support to ensure all established guidelines, policy and governance are adhered to.
  • For Direct Procurement role only:
    • Provide support on Early Supplier Involvement activities to development projects by assessing new potential suppliers and technologies.
    • Actively engage in the competitive bidding process for new materials to ensure lowest cost upon launch.
    • Interface with Engineering or Development on DCO (Design Change Order) implementation and mediate/negotiate with suppliers for drawing & specification issue resolution.
  • For Indirect Procurement role only:
    • Support decision making in areas of process re-engineering, human resources and information management necessary to achieve organizational effectiveness ensuring successful, competitive delivery of supply chain services.
    • Manages project information to support project teams, LCTs and LCC decision making.
    • Tactical coordination of timelines/budgets for all projects and functions within a LCT:
    • Manage execution of cross-functional plans and track of progress of activities.
    • Identify gaps, potential bottlenecks or delays and challenge assumptions.
    • Risk management incl. critical path, risk assessment, scenario creation and analysis.
    • Proposes options to close gaps and get projects back on schedule.
    • Single point of control for project data (collect from functions/finance; owns version management and release of changes).
    • Compile and communicate project reports.
    • Defines, measures and reports key performance indicators for their projects, enabling teams and functions to measure and improve quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Meeting management (sets agenda, organizes meetings, edits minutes).

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • BA / BS degree required. CPM, CIRM, or CPIM accreditation preferred.
  • 5 years - of relevant strategic sourcing experience to include: purchasing, negotiating contracts, contract management, supplier development and supplier qualification / certification.
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) with the ability to present supply concepts at the business level.
  • Ability to manage conflict and encourage collaboration.
  • Project management skills.
  • Commodity and supplier knowledge in the specific required area.
  • Knowledge of general contract law, UCC/EU, risk assessment and market pricing.
  • Demonstrated experience in MS Office applications, SAP and other project management and financial applications.
  • Demonstrates successful problem solving and coordination of project related activities.
  • Written and oral communication skills required. Knowledge of MS Project and MPM.
  • Strong negotiation and meeting facilitation skills required.
  • Management of complex projects with ambitious milestones in high pressure circumstances.
