Job Description

Our client is leading the development of novel therapies with the potential to transform the treatment paradigm for autoimmune diseases.


Position Summary:
  • The individual in this role will need to demonstrate an understanding of medical and pharmacy payer benefits with multiple points of access.
  • This individual will contact payers to verify insurance benefits and investigate pre-authorization requests for new to market medication with insurance companies.
  • To be successful in this role, strong and compliant collaboration with Patient Services Navigators is essential.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Reviewing all patient insurance information needed to complete the benefit verification process.  
  • Verifying patient specific benefits and precisely documents specifics for various payer plans including patient coverage, cost share, and access/provider options.
  • Investigating and documenting prior authorization and appeals process.
  • Identifying any restrictions and details on how to expedite patient access.
  • Reporting any reimbursement trends/delays to Patient Services Navigator.
  • Completing quality review of work as part of finalizing documentation within Salesforce CRM.
  • Communicating with team via Microsoft Teams chat or CRM Chatter function for feedback or questions.
  • Collaborating with Patient Services Navigators, as needed.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with infused products preferred.
  • Experience with new product launches, especially in rare diseases or specialty, and miscellaneous J-codes experience a plus.
  • Reimbursement experience and strong understanding of health insurance and benefits, Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer policies.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of patient billing, claims submission, and payer specific requirements.
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Detail orientated and highly organized.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Patient-centric and service-oriented mindset.
