Job Description


Our client manufactures and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients.

Opportunity:
  • The Instructional Designer role supports the design and content development of employee and people leader development training for internal employees, including but not limited to web-based learning, instructor-led training, blended instruction solutions, and virtual sessions.
  • This role leverages current and future technology to enhance access to program content for employees, while keeping the teams visual design elements innovative and user-centric.
  • To be successful in this role, you will have a strong passion for creating visual concepts to communicate ideas that captivate, educate, and transfer into employee learning.

Primary Responsibilities:
Instructional Design:
  • Develop quick reference guides, interactive PDF documents, and other training documentation.
  • Use of eLearning authoring tools to development learning.
  • Produce facilitator guides / scripts for instructor-led and virtual classroom trainings.
  • Edit presentation slide decks from facilitators to streamline design for workshop series sessions.
  • Design online intranet websites using basic GUI interfaces.
  • Deliver final-print and/or video projects (ex: .doc, .pdf, .mp4, .wmv).
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify and capture learning content.
  • Design within current company style guide and standards.
Technology Utilization:
  • Monitor & contribute to internal online employee social communities.
  • Maintain online training content and document libraries in company LMS systems.
Program Support:
  • Administer virtual classroom trainings, acting in the Producer role.
  • Perform administrative functions necessary to schedule, deliver, and document training programs, communities, and tools.
  • Maintain training records within the learning management system (LMS), participate in LMS platform upgrades and customizations, and provide technical support across LMS and learning technologies.

Job Requirements

Skill/Job Requirements:
Educational/Environment Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree plus 7-10 years of related experience (instructional design, curriculum development, visual communication, graphic design, learning & development, organizational / talent development, human-centered design, or education-focused roles).
  • Work location flexible within the United States (Intuitive campus, remote-based, or a combination).
  • Available periodic evenings and some weekend hours with prior notice for program support.
  • Willingness to travel to company functions and off-site trainings events; Travel 10%.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Proven competency in visual / graphics design [Portfolio requested].
  • Ability to self-manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high quality results with a focus on detailed execution.
  • Ability to work both in a team focused on common goals, as well as self-directed to complete individual deliverables by project deadlines.
  • Interest in and ability to interact with a globally distributed, multi-cultural and multi-generational team.

Required Technical/Software Skills:
  • Design software: Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • eLearning software: Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Rise, Camtasia.
  • Virtual Classroom platforms: Adobe Connect, Zoom.
  • Basic content development tools: MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:
  • Basic HTML and SharePoint skills.
  • Experience working in cloud content management service (ex: Box).
  • Administrative experience with LMS systems (ex: Skillsoft Percipio, SuccessFactors/Plateau).
