This position will report to the Controller. Responsibilities include: managing, defining and
maintaining cost accounting system to meet deadlines for processing information, answering questions and financial reporting requirements. The candidate must be very hands on, detail oriented, and have strong organization and communication skills. The position requires application of principals of accounting, compiling information, preparing analysis and trend reports, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.


Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of cost accounting process from start to finish
  • Prepare and analyze inventory valuations, cost of sales, and variances for internal review, management reporting purposes, and monthly financial close
  • Ensure intercompany COGS is correctly reported on a monthly basis
  • Record cost accounting related journal entries and complete cost accounting related account reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly reporting package for submission to parent company
  • Investigate significant trends/variances
  • Design efficient processes to meet month end close schedule
  • Assist with annual budgeting and long term projections relative to cost of goods sold
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive implementation of the solutions
  • Collaborate with other Company sites
  • Assist the Corporate Controller in special projects and provides ongoing support to the Finance & Accounting department




  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance? CPA or MBA preferred
  • 8 - 10 years accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • In depth knowledge of US GAAP especially cost accounting and revenue recognition
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must be a self starter, able to work independently and in team environment, and have excellent judgment and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP, etc.), NetSuite experience, a plus
  • Must have the ability to interpret and present complex financial data to all levels of management in a clear and concise format
  • Strong research and technical skills
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them through to completion
