Job Description
Our client is a leading biotechnology company that discovers, develops, manufactures, and commercializes medicines to treat patients with serious or life threatening medical conditions. They are among the world's leading biotech companies, with multiple products on the market and a promising development pipeline.
Duties/responsibilities:
- We are seeking a highly motivated individual Scientist 1/3 to join the Department of Preclinical and Translational Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics (PTPK).
- (S)He will be part of the PK technology/operations group and will be supporting the larger PTPK department in their execution of PK studies of molecule characterization as well as preclinical models development to determine the PK and metabolic fate of our candidate therapeutics.
- The hands-on activities will include working with PK Scientists on PK study designs, coordination and monitoring of these PK studies working with internal and external collaborators.
- The role will include PK data analysis, database entry/updates, and study/data reporting.
- Team interactions, and department presentations will also be needed.
- The current role is largely desk-based, but some lab related activities may include dose material preparation and as well as possible sample/tissue preparation.
- The successful candidate is expected to contribute to nonclinical study execution, team presentations, database updates and the writing of study reports.
Job Requirements
Skills/requirements:
- The successful candidate should have a BS/MS degree in a Biological Science, preferably with 1-2 years of hands-on preclinical R&D experience.
- Previous experience working within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry conducting preclinical PK and/or bio-distribution studies is considered a plus.
- Similarly previous experience in aspects of project management would be desired.
- The candidate should have basic understanding of bioanalytical techniques (e.g. FACS, ELISA, LCMS) and basic animal physiology.
- The candidate will also be expected to actively participate in data analysis and report writing. Self-motivation, detail oriented and independent thinking are highly desirable.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, as well as demonstrated effectiveness in a team setting are a must.
