Job Description:

This role will be responsible for managing and leading the analytical chemistry department and instrumentation. A successful candidate will be an effective problem solver, creative leader and a strong communicator. The candidate will be capable of working collaboratively with R&D teams and ultimately develop and implement a critical vision towards analytical discovery as well as analytical operations. This position comes with a competitive compensation and equity participation package.


  • Develop analytical capability around diverse complex chemical scaffolds and biosynthesized natural products
  • Work with R&D teams to develop analytical discovery programs and implement analytical workflows
  • Balance multiple program priorities and enable efficiency, throughput, data quality and data analysis
  • Develop department goals and ensure their alignment with corporate priorities
  • Develop and implement new analytical methods and detection techniques
  • Develop tracking metrics to measure analytical operations performance
  • Hire and train staff to support analytical operation



  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or equivalent discipline. 3-5+ years of experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong operational and organizational background
  • Proficiency with modern instrumentation and methodology
  • Experience with analysis and characterization of natural products
  • Prior experience working in a start-up is desirable
